 Wheelchair Basketball Junior Western Regionals

2013: 1st (Prince George, BC)       2016: 4th (Saskatoon, SK)      2017: 6th (Red Deer AB)

This tournament  in 2013 was my first taste of high performance sport with Team BC and this tournament ignited my drive to want to be in my hometown Canada games and become a Paralympian one day. We ended up winning gold and it was a great experience. After this tournament, I realized i would need to train much harder if I wanted to one day achieve that goal. Since then, I've trained year round.

  Wheelchair Basketball Junior Nationals

2014:4th (Edmonton, AB)        2018: 5th (Montreal, QB)

Junior Nationals is a seeding tournament for Canada Games.  This tournament is always seen as a measuring stick tournament for the upcoming Canada Games. In 2014, we fought to a 4th place ranking, losing to Quebec in the semis. In 2018, while I was a co-captain, we lost a close game to Ontario in the quarters,  eventually finishing 5th

2015 Canada Winter Games

2015: 7th (Prince George, BC)      2019: ? (Red Deer, AB)

In 2015 achieved my goal! Playing in my hometown Canada Winter Games is something I will never forget. All my family and friends were cheering me on throughout the tournament. The atmosphere throughout our games was unbelievable. Unfortunately, we finished a disappointing 7th, and we lost our top player right before the tournament, However, I learned some lessons that I will never forget and gained plenty of experience that I have used in both my rugby and basketball careers.  I plan to participate in the 2019 Canada Winter Games, and bring a medal back to BC!

 Wheelchair Rugby Vancouver Invitational

(Richmond, BC)

2015: 2nd B Division     2016: 2nd A Division 2017    2017: 3rd A Division     2018: 4th A Division

This was the first tournament of my wheelchair rugby career. I played for team BC "B" and there was definitely some learning through mistakes at this tournament, but I was a much better player by the end of it.  Since 2016 I have been playing on the "A" team, and I love the support we get in our home province

Rugby Rave (See Video At Top of Page)

(Phoenix, AZ)

2016: 3rd     2017: 5th

I was given the great opportunity to travel to Phoenix with senior Team BC in 2016. This tournament marked my first time playing division 1 level rugby. The paralympians and experienced players on the team took me under their wings and really showed me the ropes, helping me impress everyone at the tournament. We finished 4th.

In 2017 I once again went down to Phoenix for the Rugby Rave. This time around, we did not have the major veteran presence we had the year before. To add to our issues, a couple players were unable to get out of Victoria. Nevertheless, we competed strong and hard, even mustering a few close games.

 2016 Team Germany Exhibition

(Richmond, BC)

One year after I started playing Wheelchair Rugby, I found myself playing for Canada as part of their National Development Team against the German Senior National Team. We ended up losing the game, but I played well and garnered some national attention from coaches throughout the sport.

 Wheelchair Rugby Canadian Nationals

2016 (Montreal): 2nd     2017 (Hamilton): 4th

In 2016 I competed for BC in Division 1, I was the only Nationals rookie in Division 1 and the youngest one on my team by 10 years. We had a good tournament, but sadly we were without our most experienced player and Paralympian Ian Chan in the final, as he hurt himself in the semi finals. This was an opportunity for me, and I ended up playing the entire final. I played extremely well, and people praised me for my composure. Sadly, we couldn't pull out the gold, but I once again attracted National attention. In 2017, we struggled with an inexperienced roster, but I played full games for most of time and gained valuable experience against the best players in Canada.

Seattle Slam on the Sound

 (Seattle, WA)

2015: 5th    2016: 1st     2017: 3rd

The Seattle Slam is one of my favourite tournaments of the year.  The level of competition is always awesome and Seattle is a cool city. I was named to the tournament all star team in 2017 and 2018, and I hope to continue that trend.

RugbyMania

 (Prague, Czech Republic)

2017: 3rd

This was my first international competition representing Canada, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Being able to learn so much from the veterans of the national team while playing against high competition was an awesome experience.  We rolled through the round robin of the tournament, but lost to team Switzerland in the semi-finals in overtime. We ended the tournament, and an amazing week for myself, winning the Bronze Medal Game.

BC Games- Wheelchair Basketball

2014 (Mission): 5th     2016 (Penticton): 6th      2018 (Kamloops): 3rd

The BC Games have always been a big part of my development. Since 2014, they have given me the opportunity to lead a team. In 2014, with an extremely young team, we were able to win the 5th/6th game. In 2016, still with a young squad, we were not able to win a single Game. In Kamloops in 2018, we came in as underdogs, misfits from the north, and truly still young. However, we came in clutch when we had to and were able to win the Bronze medal game by 1 point, finally bringing home a medal.

2018 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby National Team Tryouts

In 2018 I received my first invite to National Team Tryouts.  Throughout the week, I became more comfortable and by the end I felt like I was playing some of my best rugby. I had plenty of fun all week hanging with the guys and I felt like I could just be myself.  At the end of the week, I found out I had just missed out on receiving national team carding. Once again I learned so much from all of my amazing teammates.
